I just bought a new build with a msi tomahawk B350 mobo and and 1700+ CPU. Here was the issue....
When i first was installing the cpu my son bumped my arm and the CPU went flying and when it landed it bent 6 pins on the outer side. so after trying to bind the pins back, the CPU fit perfect in the socket and was able to pinch it down with the lever. i put my water cooler on and hooked everything up except the GPU,HD, and the DVDROM and when i try to turn it on it comes on for about 2 seconds and shuts off and the LED says CPU on the EZ debugger. Should i just call it a loss on the 399 CPU or is there any tricks i can try

Thanks for the help

Solution
The problem has yet to be resolved (instability issues going the be next on Ryzen CPU)...good thing i pulled away from buying it or i would of wasted $499 USD

RMA. If it's not over the sellers' return date. If it is, give AMD support a call. Ask if you can have them look at it and give you what options you have. Heck, more than often manufacturers would replace it. I've sent back hardware to manufacturers that I turned into junk and just on their mercies, they replaced the whole item. I think the worse item I returned was an XFX HD 7950 that I modified and really destroyed it's integrity with a homemade water block (never do that). Told them what I did and ask them "Can you fix it?" They ask me if it was in the warrantee (and it was). I put back together stock, the best I could, sent it RMA, and they replaced it. If it's over the RMA return date, give AMD support a jingle. Hope this helps.

Yeah. I heard they've been working on it. Even if they got it down 10c it would be quite warm. Oh, well, put my money back in my pocket.
