Hi Folks,

I just built my new computer last night with the following:

MOBO: Asrock AB350 pro4
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws V 16GB - F4-3000C15D-16GVKB
CPU: AMD 1600

Aside from doing a clean install of windows 10 home, I've also updated the bios to 2.20.

Both before and after the Bios update this new build randomly locks up. Like a frozen screen, no blue screen, no reboot, just stuck. I?ve not witnessed this happen in a computer for years... The freeze seems to happen when I?m downloading or transferring files more often than not. Additionally, my memory will only clock to 2133, and not the prescribed 3000 with either XMP settings or manual configuration.

I installed the memory in the 2nd and 4th slot counting away from the CPU.

I understand that the QVL list includes a similar memory module, though it?s not exact. I just read that D stands for 2 sticks and Q stands for 4. So would that mean i cannot run at 3000Mhz without 4 sticks of this memory?

QVL Listed: F4-3000C15Q-16GRR
Used: F4-3000C15D-16GVKB

Without getting into the "new platform, issues, etc.." would anyone like to provide some advice as to how I should approach this situation.

One thing I didn't notice previously is that the website QVL list mentions a memory model that is a quad kit and also specifies only 4GB of memory.

I will try your suggestion when I'm home. Also I've read that adjusting the SOC Vcore is also an option to increase stability. I will try it up to the proposed safe limit of 1.2 volts.

If neither of these two work, would anyone have additional suggestions?

I plan to try all suggestions , and then if there is no resolution I'll be purchasing the following Trident Z RGB 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3200 CL16-18-18-38 1.35V, unless someone posts objections.

I'm hoping I can match this memory to the significantly more expensive Trident Z RGB 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3200 CL14-14-14-34 1.35V

I am having the same issue. The OS randomly freezes and the mouse or keyboard will not respond. The only way is to restart the computer using power button and this happens very often like ten mins of usage and it's beyond irritating

I'm having a similar issue, even after fresh install of windows 10, tried older version of windows 10 and still the same..

Ryzen 7 1700
X370 AX370 Gaming 5
G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3000mhz 2x8GB (showing 2133mhz)

same thing is happening, it freezes/lag whenver I download/transferring files or sometimes while browsing.

Things i have done

-Updated driver chipset & bios
-Reseated rams
-Reseated cooler
-I did your solutions above still didn't work

did you find a solution?
