Yesterday, I purchased a new Samsung 4K monitor. The screen will go black for a second or two. I installed the drivers from the disc the monitor came with. I switched to the DP video connection it came with, and it still happens. I am unable to play Battlefield 4, because of this problem. I am using an AMD Radeon XFX 480 8gb card. On the box, it has Free sync for AMD. In my video card settings, it says free sync is not available. also, when the screen goes black, the monitor shows what display port I am using. Can anyone steer me in the right direction???

Can you provide your full system specs?

Sounds like your GPU is being starved of power. Does the PC eventually recover when it goes black? Can you still hear sound, and apart from the screen, the PC appears to continue to function? If so, it is likely your Power Supply not providing enough amps on the 12v rail. This is an EXTREMELY common problem, especially with prebuilt systems and new builders who save money on lower end PSUs.

Sure: AMD FX-8370 8 core; Crucial Ballistix 32gb DDR3 RAM; Radeon RX 480 8gb pci video card; Corsair 850watt power supply; Windows 10 64bit x 64 bit processor. Samsung U28E590 4K 28" monitor.

It's new; it came with the 4K monitor.
