Hi There,

So I just bought a 2TB Samsung 990 Pro because the capacity on my 1TB Samsung 980 Pro wasn't cutting it anymore (plus, the 990 Pro was on for a steal on Prime Day), and after running benchmarks with both Samsung Magician and with Crystal Disk Mark, I appear to be getting significantly slower Random Read and Write speeds compared to my 980 pro. They are as follows:

-980 Pro
Sequential Read = 7453 MB/s
Sequential Write = 6914 MB/s
Random Read = 1,078,125 IOPS
Random Write = 724,121 IOPS

-990 Pro:
Sequential Read = 6950 MB/s
Sequential Write = 5157 MB/s
Random Read = 751.708 IOPS
Random Write + 553,710 IOPS

"Sequential" Read and Write speeds seem to be just fine and it matches the official reviews from major hardware testing and benchmarking websites/groups, but I'm puzzled as to why mine in particular is having issues. Could it be defective in some way or have wrong settings turned on? I checked the firmware, and it shipped with the latest version (after the whole failure/degradation problem the drive was initially suffering from.

If anyone can shed some light on, I would really appreciate it.

Cheers!

On samsung magician have you tried changing the performace to full by going on pefroamce Optimization and clicking full perforance then testing it out
I've enabled all performance settings except for Over Provisioning. My understanding was that this setting is just for endurance for the drive to last longer, but I could be mistaken.
