New SATA drive not being displayed.

Win7, 500GB SeaGate HDD, SATA.
I just installed it today, and it is not showing up. Not in BIOS, nor Win7. Any suggestions?

If it does not show up in the bios the causes can be.

1. The sata data cable is plugged in but no power from the psu is connected to the drive.
2. Some of the Sata ports in the bios may be disabled so enable them.
3. The drive you have is native sata 6gb, and may not work or be detected when plugged into a sata 2 port of the motherboard, it may only work with a sata 3 port.
