New Setup or upgrade

Hi guys,

I'm trying to figure what to do with my current setup, and i would like to know you're opinion about my dilemma.
Im currently running a Sabertooth 990FX r2.0, FX8320, 8GB DDR3 1866 and a R9 270x 2GB, an im thinking in get some more ram, overclock the cpu and get a new graphic and upgrading everything else in one-two years.
The thing is that as time goes by, I came to have less time for gaming, and didnt want to spend a lot of money at the same moment.
What would be your opinion about this? What graphic would you suggest or is better to go all the way?
Btw, I have a 1440p display.

If you are not gaming at all, then its better to continue with your current setup for now and upgrade when required, else you should go for an all out upgrade.

i agree with hellfire13, an all out upgrade its the best choice you've got

The fx is definitely not a 144hz cpu. But it should be OK for 60hz. If your display is 60hz/75hz, u can manage with that fx with occasional dips to 30 fps in intense scenarios. And yes a 1070 would be ideal for 1440p.

Problem is, that fx will massively bottleneck the 1070, as indicated in that chart.

Hi guys, thank you all for your opinion. My display is 144HZ, its a ASUS MG279Q. What setup would you guys propose me? my budget for a new setup would be around 800€. Dont need a case, drives or PSU.
