(somewhat long question, TL;DR Below)
For a couple years, i have been using the Razer Blackwidow 2013 stealth Edition (or whatever its full name is) mechanical gaming keyboard for my PC.

However, i bought a new desk with a pull out keyboard tray that is a bit too short for the size of my keyboard. It fits, but overlaps almost half of my mousepad and gives me about a 1"-1.5" space between my keyboard edge and my mouse (with the mouse all the way to the other end of the tray.
i can set the keyboard off the side of the tray and it works (somewhat well), but the tray cannot be closed.

The Razerzone site says that the width of t he keyboard is 18.72". my optimal width would be about 3" less than that (which is about the size of the numberpad).

(TL;DR):
What is the best gaming keyboard i can get that is around 15" wide, and has the quality of a razer keyboard (or any logitech or any other good brand), and has good gaming features like the backlit mechanical keys?

Thank you for looking at my fairly long question.

Hello... I use a 12.5" mech backlite keyboard... http://www.amazon.com/Keycool-Backlight-Mechanical-Available-Breathing/dp/B00KZGABGW you can choose your Mech switch type and backlite color with them... But you will not get the Num key pad with this "84" type.
Backlighting intensity is adjustable... and there are some other special lighting effects and groups of preset key lighting, but not programmable for which keys. Extra "Gaming keys" are included and the USB cable Plugs in, and is easily replaceable if needed
The key placements/size is NOT standard tho... and you will have to re-learn some positioning with this Small size keyboard.

sounds like you might want a tenkeyless keyboard (keyboard without the number pad). the coolermaster storm quickfire is pretty popular in that category.

honestly though, depending on how the desk is built i'd just modify the pull drawer to be wider and give you more space. most simply screw onto the bottom of the desk surface and side of the board they use as a tray.

I though about modifying it, but the way the tray operates is it is held on each side (left and right) by an arm with the sliding wheels on it. Adding anything to the sides would cause it not to be able to close at all.
However, your recommendation for the numpad less keyboard from Coolermaster was highly appreciated, they seem to have what i want.
