Want to get peoples opinion on my new build. It will be my 2nd overall build. I am building it for silence, light gaming, and video editing. I do like AMD cause it seems I can get more for the punch. I guess you can say I am an AMD fanboy. I will at some point do SLI and will try to OC for the first time as well. Already have two 2tb Hitachi 6GB/s 7200rpm Deskstars as my media storage drives.

but worth the extra.
It wont need additional fans , but you can add a couple at the front of the mb chamber and they will lower temperatures a little .

If you are "light gaming" why bother with SLI ?
A single card can do all you need , and its almost always better to buy a single newer card , than another older partner to the one you own .

I had to think long hard between the Antec P183 and the Fractal. Right now I have a Antec Sonata case which I hate say is not really well engineered. I like the sleek look of the Fractal R3 and it has comparable reviews to the P183. I guess I do more then light gaming. However, the current card is rated excellent for quiet and low power comsumption (= less heat/less fan noise). I don't need a world beater that screams/produces a lot of heat for what I do . Also, the Scythe Mugen 3000 was my 2nd choice but I like the Noctua NH-U12 cause of its build quality, silence, warranty, and coming with two top notch fans for a push/pull configuration. Was about to get the Mugen but for $10 bucks more I went with the Noctua. I guess what it came down to was personal preference. Definitely valued opinion thanks. Will check out the mobo instead of the UD3. I guess your right their. Save me a little money.

The hyper 212 is a good $30 cooler , but it simply doesn't compare to the scythe or the noctua for temperatures , and definitely not for noise .
I have been using an older version of that scythe for about 5-6 years now . The only time you hear it is at boot .

The R3 reviews I read were ok . Im sure its a good case . My two cents says that the usb 3 port on the antec would make the choice for me

Hyper 212+ is great for both overclockers and non-overclockers and it's doing pretty well with any CPU, and i don't hear it at all....

First thing I would change is the psu

stick to Antec, Corsair, XFX, Seasonic, Enermax for psu. Still check reviews from legit psu reviewers because some models might have issues.

Second I would change is the gpu to something like this

which is why I recommend the hyper 212 because I personally use it and its a great performer. That alone saves you a good $20

I suggest if you are going to buy an SSD get one that can hold Windows 7 and atleast 1 or 2 games

PSU : the one you chose is better than some Corsair, Antec series out there, but i would go for a higher wattage one in case of future upgrades, generally Cooler Master silent pro series are rated as one of the bests...
GPU : you can put a 550Ti or HD 6850 with a BD CPU, what resolution will you be gaming at ? if you're going to game at 1080P you need at least a GTX 560Ti or HD 6950
Case: i'd recommed on of the Coolermaster HAF series, the HAF 912 advanced or the HAF 922

CPU Cooler : Hyper 212+ and you can swap it later if you're going to be a 24/7 overclocker
RAM: G.Skill sniper are made specially for Intel Sandy Bridge platforms and some reported it has issues with AMD boards, so a 1.5/1.6V regular ram would be good chioce, here's one

Now, safe all the difference for a strong GPU and for a better CPU cooler such as V6GT if you don't want the Hyper 212+ solution.

The hyper 212 is a small mid range cooler . It performs very well on the cool running sandybridge cpu's .

The scythe Mugen has more heat pipes and more than double the fin surface area . Its a different class of product altogether

Will be gaming at 1080p. I have read 2 of these gtx 550 cards in sli can match a gtx 570. Which would be about 150 usd cheaper. But it seems the general consensus is to get one card that is more powerful. I agree everything I have read about the silent pro series are comparable to higher end psu's. Seems everyone is in disagreement with the Noctua NH-U12. Is it cause of price per performance or performance itself. I guess I put a little more stock in the Noctua because with the ULNA it can be 12.6 dbA. or with the stock its only at 19.6 dbA. By far the best for silent cpu cooler I have seen. Didn't see anything about that for G.skill sniper 1.25v. I liked the lower voltage for cooler operation. No matter how little is still helps. Will definitely switch it up then.

i'm running at with my 1055T, i hit 26C IDLE and 40 Full Load (Cores Temp) and i hit 36C IDLE and 68 Full Load when i overclock to 4.0 GHz....
the CPU temp itself reported via the MOBO sensor is 30C IDLE and 60C in full load, when i OC to 4.0 it's 38-40C IDLE and 76-78C full load

Scythe Mugen is great, but when it comes to price per performance the Hyper 212+ wins...

i would SLI GTX 560Ti not the GTX 550Ti, i guess a signle GTX 570 will beat GTX 550Ti SLI as a single GTX 550Ti has a creepy performance and poor value, review this thread, it helps more

I wouldn't crossfire HD 6850s/70s because of microstuttering explained by toms in charts, and no i guess no need to crossfire now while a single HD 6950 or GTX 560Ti can do the job just fine .....

and better wait for the AMD 7K come out, with the news XDR2 rambus it's said to be twice faster than GDDR5, 28nm is less power consumption and heat...

I would go with the OCZ. However, I have a OCZ psu in my build right now and they burnt me on a $35 MIR. To bad, cause its a nice stable PSU. I like the G.SKill X series. Ya, I am coming to that conclusion to about SSD's. You have to spend $75+ to get anything worthwhile that won't fail or has decent speeds.
