I just recently purchased a "Creative Sound Blaster Audigy PCIe RX 7.1 Sound Card with High Performance Headphone Amp" sound card from amazon off a recommendation from the forums on a good 7.1 sound card for gaming but I've run into a few issues.I'd like to first state that I'm a complete novice and this is actually my first time even installing a new part, Now the issue I ran into first is that my Headset (a Razer 7.1 tiamat) had a different configuration for its intended set up of the analog wires than what the sound card offers so it took me awhile the try to figure out what socket each wire might need to go in and I still have no clue if it's done right or not. After fiddling with it for awhile I decided to use Arma 3 to test if it was working and immediately I noticed that the audio quality was horrible and muffled, there was no surround sound active at all, and the built in headset is not working at all.

My OP is windows 8.1

My headset is as I said a Razer Tiamat 7.1

And my sound card is this http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Blaster-Audigy-Performance-Headphone/dp/B00EO6X7PG

If anyone has suggestions as to what I can do to fix it I would be extremely grateful if you could help me.

Did you follow up with installation of your headset following this guide(page 4 on your manual) or through this video illustration while maintaining the outputs labeled on your sound card

Are you sure you've installed the latest drivers for your Creative RX soundcard? If you were running off an onboard audio solution did you disable your previous soundcard in BIOS and also uninstalled the previous drivers from your OS? Could you please pass on your full systems specs?
