Hi everyone!

I've bought a Gigabyte z97x SLI motherboard. Is not bad at all, but I've experience buzzing noise problems with his integrated audio chipset connecting the audio by jack (front/back panel). I have no problems connecting by hdmi.
I've thinking to buy a new sound card but is the only part in the computer I have no idea at all :S

I got a sound bar 4.1, LG NB4540 and his use is for games and films (nothing professional I mean). I will not connect more audio devices to the computer.

Questions:
- This sound bar will be my device always (not TV, no more devices, just sound bar + computer), what kind of sound card would be better?
- The sound cards which say there are for 5.1 would be able to connect a 4.1 or should I buy a specific 4.1 card? Example1 and Example2

Thanks buddies!!

You wouldn't need anything fancy to connect tot eh sound bar. All you'll need to do is connect the HDMI out from your computer onto your HDMI input on the sound bar and then have an HDMI output cable to your TV.

+ from info found in your manual.

Depending on the make and model of your TV, you can use the optical output from your tv to your optical input on your sound bar though the cheapest and efficient way to go about things is using the HDMI connections and forgo the sound card purchase. Furthermore you'd be best served looking into an HT|Omega Fenix sound card if Optical output with true decoding onboard is your intention.
