Hello everyone,

Headphones: Sennheiser GAME ZERO Gaming Headset, Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80 both being detected as speakers.

Motherboard: ASRock Z97 Extreme6.

Soundcard: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy RX.

My problem is my headphones is being detected as speakers, which makes the sound very low and horrible.
I have tried reinstalling realtek many times, downloading different versions and nothing seems to work.
I even reinstalled windows, which made no difference either.

I then gave up on the on-board sound and decided to buy a soundcard instead, which would have different software too.

With the soundcard in, it still detects my headphones as speakers.
I have uninstalled the old drivers and disabled the on-board sound in the BIOS.

I do have sound in the headset, though low and very bad quality.

I have really hit a brickwall, since nothing seems to work, hope someone can guide me in the right direction.

Thanks, Frederik

I think most soundcards just detect *something* connected to the output jack; they have no way of identifying what is actually plugged in. They probably just default to "Speakers", but that shouldn't be impacting what audio they actually send out. Sounds more like a setting problem to me.

Also, what is your source audio? It's also possible the source audio is just that bad.

Forgot to mention that, yes of course!
directly from their website, checked for updates too. :)
