New SSD install, trouble booting.

Good afternoon,

I purchased a new desktop and upgraded to an SSD. The issue I am having is in order for me to get into windows I have to go to the boot menu and select the SSD. If I don't it attempts to "repair" prior to loading and fails in a loop. I have the SSD set as priority in BIOS. Please help.

Did you disconnect old drive while installing windows on SSD.

No. Prior to starting up I installed the SSD and then had windows installed on it. I then formatted the HDD. This is where I am at. Hope I don't have to start over.
