New SSD installation

I just put in a new Crucial M4 SSD and i already had seagate 1TB HDD in with windows on it. Later I installed windows onto the SSD but was unable to use any of the programs from the HDD. What is the reasoning behind this and how do i fix this? do i need to redownload all my programs onto the HDD?

When you install programs, some info is recorded in the windows registry.
When you did a new install, the new windows registry did not have any information about your previously installed programs.
It is in the realm of possibility that someone has written such a conversion app.
There certainly is such a need.
Post if you find one, otherwise, you are stuck with reinstall of programs.
