Hello Everyone,

I'm in the market for a gaming SSD. I've been looking at the:

-Intel 330 120GB ($110.99 after rebate)
-Samsung 830 128GB ($129.99)
-Crucial M4 128GB ($122.49)
-Kingston SSDNow V+200 120GB (Can get with employee discount for $100)

The price is really close on all of these, but my main concern is with reliability and performance. I see back and forth reviews on all of these, but it looks like the Samsung 830 has been getting the overall recommendation.

I originally was looking at OCZ Vertex 4, but I see too many people complaining about them being reliable and having issues updating them. I'm sure they're not terrible, but not comfortable with them until they get a few more generations down the road.

I just wanted to get some of your input on these and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Build:
Proc: Intel i5-3570K
Mobo: ASrock Extreme4 Z77
GPU: Sapphire Radeon 7850 OC
PSU: OCZ ZT 750W
HDD: WD Black 1TB

I'd go for the samsung. I have the previous generation 470, which I bought because it was the only drive without problems. The 830 is a pretty similar story. It won't let you down. Additionally, samsung drives have the lowest power consumption rates, which when you think about it is a lot more important that it at first seems (at least for laptops lol). There's a reason why Apple chose it for their precious MBA and Retina Pro's ;)

You forgot the number one rule in reviews...don't read reviews. People who write reviews on retailer websites are stupid and 99% of the time have no idea what they are talking about.

Read reviews made by professionals on big name websites like Anand, Toms, Cnet, pcmag, pcworld, maxpc...etc.

The Vertex 4 is probably faster than all of the other SSD's you listed and its not on a sandforce controller which is actually *known* for reliability issues...

I agree, most of them are pointless. Most of them will be a negative review due to them arriving DOA or not knowing what they are doing.

I have also read some of these issues here as well though. One specifically stating how Samsung has had contracts for their previous 470 model. I do normally like OCZ and will go against the purchase reviews, but after reading it in multiple places not sure if I trust their SSDs.

Thanks, after looking more and more it seems like that will be the best option. I just ordered it from Amazon for a little under $130.
