I purchased a new SSD for my build which already consists of a single 2tb traditional hdd with Windows Ultimate on it. What I want to do is install my SSD for booting OS and use my 2tb traditional hdd as a storage drive. What do I need to do to transfer my old Windows Ultimate x64 OS to the new SSD and then wipe only the OS from old hdd but keep all of my installed programs, personal files, media files, games, etc. on it?
Once I do get this set up, how would I configure it to where everything I install/download goes to the storage drive?

The new SSD is 128GB and on the traditional hdd only 12gb is taken up on it (it is a fairly new build)

Windows 7 Ultimate, with only 12GB used space? Having done hundreds of Windows 7 installs, I can't see this.

In any case...you can't wipe the OS from the old HDD and retain/use the applications on it. Those applications need to be reinstalled with the new OS on the SSD.

There is a program called AOMEI Backup that migrates your current OS to another ssd/hdd, will that work?

Never used it, so I have no info on how or if it works.
But generally, trying to split an existing install (OS on a new drive, applications remaining where they are) is less than optimal. Some things you want on the new SSD. And I have not seen anything that allows 'this', but not 'that'.
