So I just installed my kingston SSD into my computer, I did not remove my current HDD, as I wish to use both, but my kingston SSD isnt showing up near my local disc? How can I get it to do this? Or find it, I found it under my device manager though.
start, type disk management , choose the SSD and select new volume
I am in Disk management, but I only see my C: Drive and system reserve, I do not see my SSD here, but I see it in device management under Disk Drives, also I do not know what a partition is.
Yup, you need to format the SSD with the NTFS format for it to appear in My Computer and be usable. If it asks about partitions, just make it one partition with all available space, no reason to have multiple.
I found it there in disk management, It is "Disk 1" (KINGSTON)
It says unallocated though>?
Right click on Disk 1 in Disk Mgmt. and select "New Simple Volume" and that wizard should walk you through the steps to format the drive and assign a drive letter to it.
