I have just got a 2nd SSD and plugged it in, I can see it in my BIOS, but when I boot up the 2nd SSD is not showing in any disk management or anywhere else. I have tried using CMD to find it as well, it just isn't here. To reiterate, it does not show ANYWHERE when I boot the computer - cannot partition it or anything, as it does not show up in the system.

Could the problem be a faulty SATA cable? Or should I just return the SSD?

What specific drives and motherboard?
Make/model of all, please.

Your SSD drive may not be initialized. You need to initialize the drive and assign a letter to it. Apart from that, there can be few more reasons for this issue, such as:

1. SSD drive letter is missing

2. SSD file system is not supported by Windows

3. SSD disk driver not installed properly.

Try to fix the above issues & check if the drive gets recognized.
I’ll try.

So, I had an extra SATA cable that came with my MOBO, unused. I plugged it into the ADATA SSD, and put it into my 5th SATA port. Still nothing showed in Disk Management/diskpart, etc. I decided to try running Windows Memory Diagnostics, and after it finished up, I was finally able to see the 2nd SSD in disk management/crystaldiskinfo, etc.

I have since initialized, formatted it and given it a drive and so far it seems to be showing up and working.
