New SSD, older workstation?

I have an older HP dx2300 workstation (http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12668_div/12668_div.HTML#System Details) that I have been using for a media server. The other day the system drive went on it and so I thought it would be a great opportunity to try upgrading to an SSD.

I found a good deal on an Intel SSD 320 Series 80 GB drive (I didn't realize that it was a 2.5" drive until I received it but I would be surprised if that mattered).

When I plugged it in the BIOS only reported 8 Mb. There is obviously some kind of incompatibility here.

Are there any SSDs that will work with this IO controller? How do I know what will and won't work?

Thanks in advance
Josh

That is a known bug that affects that model. You need to update the firmware on the dive to the latest version to fix the problem.

Sweet! Thanks! I'll let you know if it works. I did try to do some searching to resolve the issue, but I don't think I searched on the correlation with 8meg in particular

I'm sure this would have worked but the SMART functionality was also faulty so it wouldn't take the fix. Thanks for the info though.
