Question New SSD SATA problem

I recently got a new SSD-Samsung 860 EVO 500 GB SATA 2.5 that I wanted to use in my computer for game storage. My motherboard a z170 gaming k3 is what I was using but the two sata ports at the bottom are used by my SSD that has my OS on it and other one is used for my HDD. When I went to plug in the new ssd I realized that I had no space except for the Sata express ports but after hooking up my SSD into one of the ports it does not appear in the disk management to be formatted. I though I was ask on here to see if I could get any help as to what I could do next
