I got a new ssd for my laptop. This laptop has a legitimate, bought version of windows on it and I have access to the product code for it as well. If i just install windows 10 into the ssd, boot the laptop using it, and enter that product key when prompted, will I get this fully functional version of windows, since I wont be using the windows from the old drive.
Thank you in advance

If W10 was activated on that machine it will reactivate even without entering license so you can do clean install but since you are changing only disk you can safely clone it.

can i use macrium reflect to clone my old drive onto the ssd, i have an enclosure so i can a have both installed at the same time. Just making sure this isnt a mistake.

What is the make/model of your ssd?
Most vendors will have a proprietary utility to clone/move the C drive to their ssd.
Samsung, for one.

When done, save the original hdd, it will have a recovery file that can later be used to reset your laptop to original condition when you want to sell it.
