Hello, So I have a delloptiplex 990 sff and it has a 250w power supply. I just upgraded to a 1050 ti 3 weeks ago. Everything has gone smoothly with the power but as of this morning I have noticed a new weird smell... Nothing in my setup has changed except I got a rgb keyboard and mouse this morning. Nothing smelled bad for about an hour then i smelled something i powered off my pc and sniffed around. I couldn't pinpoint the source. I booted it back up after an hour and everything smelled fine and i was looking into this issue and then i smelled it again... As of right now i smell nothing. So what im asking is do you think its a problem with my power supply or if i should be concerned.

When your PC is running, open up your case and sniff out what is getting fried.

Best case scenario is that the dust is getting fried and all you need to do, is to clean dust from inside your PC.
Worst case scenario is that some component is getting fried (e.g PSU, MoBo, GPU) and it may smell like burnt plastic. If so, you need to find out the specific component before taking further action.

My dad is in the IT server side of the industry and i asked him to come and take a whiff in the middle of a csgo timeout and he said it does smell funky i asked if it smelled like melting plastic he said no it's not melting plastic. He could not pinpoint what it smells like. He didn't seem concerned and i asked if i should upgrade my psu he said no it is fine. I also just booted it up when i got home and it smells like it always had. Ill keep an eye out if anything feels abnormally hot.
