although i've researched this config to death, and then some more, then poked it with a stick for awhile, i thought id run it across the thg forums to see if anyone has any suggestions:

chenbro gaming bomb II
Antec NeoPower 480
DFI LanParty nF4 SLI-DR
AMD athlon 64 3500+ winchester
Corsair COOL Liquid cooling
OCZ PC-4000 Gold VX 1G
WD Raptor 74GB
Plextor PX-716sa
asus en6800 gt x2 in SLI

I plan do do some minor modding on the case for my cooling system, and of course i plan to OC the balls off that winchester. i'd appreciate suggestions.

You've obviously got money to burn with this build. Why not get and FX chip for the unlocked multiplier? That might facilitate higher clocks when you go for your OC.

Also, you might want to consider upping the PSU to that 680 W supply by Enermax(I think). I wonder if 480 will be enough for 2 6800 GTs.
