New system 1st time build

I have been researching and came to a decision of my new build. I would like some input about recommendations on my system. I am building a system for school, learning, and future work that will be upgradable and current technology. I have no intentions of overclocking the system. I decided on this so far:

Asus P8P67-M Pro
core i5 2500
4 GB ram
New Blue ray disc
windows 7
I currently have new PS from Antec earthwatts 650w
I have two older cd dvd players from an old system if they will work
I need a recommended video card for general purpose at mid grade price. Any other considerations will be appreciated.
I will be looking to use this for only farmville games or similar. How about cables and such? Do they come with the board?Thank you.

You would probably find better value from something like:

i3-2100
4GB 1600MHz RAM
Samsung Blu-Ray
Antec PSU 650w (good PSU, hold onto that )
Windows 7 Home Premium (or better) 64-bit

Depending on your budget id recommend something like a 6570 for a graphics card. In all fairness, if you bought a z68 motherboard, the on-board graphics would be more than enough for games like farmville meaning you wouldn't need to buy a discrete GPU at all.

Farmville games O_O.

Get a a6 or a8 APU. Cheaper and has better upgradability than the i3 ^_^

Wow, 300 something dollars. =( With this you won't need to buy a discrete GPU at all and its quad core ^_^

Thank you but I really preferred the Core i5 otherwise will the motherboard be available in Microatx?

Yes. Any Socket 1155 motherboard will work with i3, i5, i7 sandy bridge CPU's no matter what its form factor is (mATX, ATX or even E-ATX).

Just make sure you get z68 chipset if you plan to use onboard graphics, or p67/z68 if you plan to get a Graphics card.
