Intel z390 Gigabyte board. i5 cpu, corsair 650W psu.
Power on. Board LED's flash briefly then all is dead. Repeated power application produces nothing.
Tried with board removed from case, CPU and ATX power only. Just the same?

What to suspect? PSU is clearly providing power, then shutting down.
Checked CPU seated properly.

Looking for something else to try please?

Oh dear. Remember those hard pressed PC support guys?
Seems like I was one of their customers.
I powered up the system via the psu switch (on the rear)
and expected the system to boot.

When I pressed the front panel power on... it came up.
Sigh.

I'm sure you're not as daft as me?
I'd had the system apart, tested the PSU alone (np)
Was ready to use alternate psu's, mobos... etc

Instead, I sat back and thought about it.

Simples?
(Stupid?)

Sorry to waste bandwidth
