I am looking to upgrade my Q6600 Dual Core Build from 5-6 yrs ago that I used to play WoW heavily before being banned (for the 3rd time) as well as StarCraft.

I am currently using the following:
OS: Windows XP Pro
CPU: Q6600 Quad with GO Stepping

OS: Windows 7 Pro or Windows 8 Pro. I do not care for the touchscreen so leaning towards 7

You don't need a gpu if don't want to play games, the motherboard and the igpu supports a dual monitor setup, the igpu of the i5 is more than sufficient for your needs.

As for the os, get the windows 7 home premium 64 bits, since you'll have 8GB of ram, you'll want the 64 bits os, since you can't use more than 4GB with 32 bits.
