I am starting to get more into computers, but am still fairly new with them. I am just wondering if this set up would be good, would work, be worth it, etc... Literally ANY tips or information you can give me, feel free to post it!
Processor: Intel Core i7-3770k
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Pro3
Heat Sink: Rosewill RCX-ZAIO-92
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Tactical DDR3-1600 (2x4 GB)
Graphics: PowerColor PCS+ AX7870 Myst Edition
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda ST500DM002
Optcal: Samsung SH-224BB
Power: Antec Neo Eco 520C
Case: Rosewill Redbone U3
This is basically the $800 set up for the TH System Builder Marathon but with an i7 processor and a different case.. Would those changes be fine? Would this be a nice computer?
EDIT:
This system is mostly for gaming, but I'm majoring in Mechanical Engineering and will possibly double major with Electrical Engineering, so I'd like to run any software I might be using fluidly. I know I'm not going to be working with ProE (CREO) or Solid Works, so I'm not entirely sure what software I'll be using...
Budget is about $1,000 for the system but a little flexible.
