Question New system build suggestion.

Hie, I've been trying to build a new system because my old one is too old for now with i7 2600k and GTX 1060 6g
And need some suggestions with my selection, specially about the ram module, PSU and CPU cooler also the case fan.
and for the below parts only cpu and 3080 was selected based on what i need. others are based on random recomendations from friends and co workers

Now what I'm trying to get are:
1.CPU : I712700kf
2.Mobo : MSI MPG Z690 EDGE WIFI MOTHERBOARD

1. PSU : Cooler master v850 Gold full modular / Corsair RM Series RM750— 750 Watt 80 Plus Gold Certified Fully Modular Power Supply
2. Ram : Gigabyte aorus memory ddr5 32x2 5200
3. Cpu cooler: NZXT kraken x73 RGB 360mm aio L/cooler
4. Case fan: Lian Li Uni Fan AL120 (Triple Pack) - White or any other with good cooling performance for mentioned cpu

7.Storage : ADATA XPG GAMMIX S70 BLADE PCIE GEN4X4 M.2 1TB SSD x2
8. GPU: Msi rtx 3080 oc 12g gaming z trio

And I have Corsair 570x as cabinet with 3stock fan

Do you have any budget limitations?

Are you certain you want DDR5 RAM?

I don't think you need a 360 mm AIO for a 12700 CPU, but maybe you have some strong over-riding reason.

I think you've got a solid build. Maybe overkill with all the fans and the water cooler. Everything should run with that PSU though.

Though I don't know if I'd still build a system with DDR4 if I had the budget to go with current gen.

No I don't have any reason for that, doesn't the ddr5 board perform better with ddr5 module, and for the aio people told me that 12700+3080 gets very hot... Because of that I just randomly choose one with higher price.

And I have a budget of 200000 INR to max 300000 INR if roughly converted it's 2500$ to 3500$ but also the stuffs a bit pricier in my home country India

The KF does not have integrated graphics. If I was spending that amount of money, I would get the 12700K instead just so I had a fallback position in case I had GPU problems.

DDR 5 RAM is a newer generation but doesn't yet offer much if any advantage over DDR 4. But at your budget, no problem. I don't know what your expectations are. I don't know if that motherboard is available in a DDR 4 version.

AIO coolers have a separate set of issues compared to air cooling, but if you are willing to accept that, OK. I have no idea if the Kraken x73 is the best 360 mm AIO.

I have some thoughts:

The main value of a I7-12700KF is that it has 20 processing threads compared to 16 threads on the less expensive I5-12600K
The single thread performance, which is what games want, is about the same.
I might add that an extra $25 for the non F variant is good insurance if you should ever have a graphics issues.

On the psu, the Corsair rm will have a 10 year warranty. And, you should have 850w for a 3080 card.
3000 series cards can have high power spikes.

Today, performance between DDR4 and DDR5 is essentially the same.
DDR4 motherboards and ram will be cheaper.

I am not much in favor of aio coolers when a good twin tower air cooler will do the job.
In a gaming system, you will not be overclocking.
It is best to let the turbo mechanism ramp up a couple of cores past what an all core OC can give.
When gaming, you are likely to only make effective use of 4-6 threads. More for multiplayer.
Hence, there is less need for aggressive cooling.

The case is a good one for air cooling.
No need to change out the front rgb fans.
Just add a 120mm rear exhaust.
You have 170mm available for any top cooler you want.


I think I would opt for a single 2tb m.2 device.
A single address space is easier to manage.
Do not chase fast synthetic benchmarks. Most ssd devices will feel the same to you.

For the CPU yes i choose it intentionally because I have backup GPU but looks like I have to get K because of unavailability of kf in the stores.

And for the AIO cooler, I don't know about the issues, except the leakage in some case of mishandling.

Another reason for integrated graphics.....
My psu failed and fortunately, I had on hand a lower powered replacement available.
The problem was that it did not have sufficient pcie connectors for my graphics card so I had to revert to integrated graphics. FWIW integrated graphics worked well and was reasonably fast.

The speed of ddr5 is definitely faster, but that is accompanied my much higher latency which negates mush of the benefit. Excepting some apps, DDR4 performs similarly, and that includes gaming.

Why do you think you need 64 GB?

What tasks that you do will benefit noticeably from 64 GB?

For the other fans.. which manufacturers should i choose I'm in lots of confusion with selections of some nice looking hasle free fan with good air flow rate.

For psu I can't find 850 of that manufacturers instead there is one with 1000 and above... I'll look for one in other sites

none ... i thought maybe i need more ram

I have no preference for motherboard.
I am using the MSI-Z690A wifi proDDR4
It works fine.
Any cooler should have a lga1700 adapter.
Lga1700 has different spacing and the height is lower.
I use a Noctua NH-D15s cooler. It will have lga1700 mounting.
It is a high compatibility version of the NH-D15 and will clear ram up to 66mm tall.
Usually, I use whatever 120mm fan that I have around for rear exhaust.
Mostly, that is noctua which runs quiet. Most any will do.
The main purpose of a rear exhaust fan is to direct the incoming airflow past the cooler, motherboard and graphics card.

Either of these cpu's down below use less power and create less heat vs the 12700K / KF yet net you similar results.
