[SOLVED] New system build

Hi guys,

I am wanting to upgrade my current system (i5 3570k, gtx 1060) to an i7 9700k.
I'm probably going to hold off on a graphics card upgrade until Q2 2019.

I'm looking for good z390 motherboards for the 9700k, and also good cases with windowed side panels. I've had a look at the lian li 011 dynamic which is a really nice looking case but I've seen that the noise performance is pretty bad - I'm wanting more of a quiet case. Would the define s2 be alright in this case (I'm currently using a bequiet silent base 600).

I'm unsure whether or not I want to watercool the system yet, however I'm leaning more towards getting a dark rock pro 4 for more quiet performance.

Let me know if I need to move this question somewhere else!

as far as mobo's go gigabyte have stepped up with quality vrm's - asus have dropped the ball this round.
i would go an auros ultra or a taichi ultimate.

Regarding case, the define S2 is the modified version of the R6 to house all the watercooling parts. Look at the specsheet and decide which one you want.

I've just stumbled across the silent base 801 which looks rather nice, however I've seen some reviewers state it has bad cooling performance. Do you think the S2 would be more suitable (I've decided s2>r6)

Silent operation cases tend to have that drawback.

Go for the S2.
