Hey,

This is my first post and much appreciate any help.

I cannot seem to get my new system to connect to my displays.. I have tried both HDMI and VGA connections to no avail.. I can confirm both monitors I tried work fine on my laptop so they are not the issue. To confirm when I plug in hdmi/vga cables to computer and display nothing happens, the display does not detect any connection.

Some context:

I picked up my new system today (from msy.com.au). The computer was booted up in front of me and everything was working as it should. I then took it back to my place and unpacked it (I may have been slightly rough in trying to get it out of the box as it was tightly wedged in).

The build is as follows:

Intel i7-6700 3.4ghz Skylake Boxed CPU
Gigabyte H170M Motherboard
Kingston 240g SSD
Seagate 1TB HDD
Gigabyte 8gb GTX 1070
Thermaltake Black Versa Mid Tower Case Without PSU
16gb Ram

If you need any more information please do not hesitate to ask.

Obviously I'm a little frustrated as I have a new toy that I can't begin to play with 🙁 Any help would be very much appreciated..

Many thanks,
Sam

I have got it working by connecting DVI directly into gpu.. now i just need to workout why the motherboard display ports arent working.. My guess is it is trying to use the dedicated cpu gpu (something like that)...
*Bump*

Does the monitor itself display a no input message?

The first thing to come to mind is whether the graphics card has somehow become dislodged during the trip home or when you were unpacking. I would suggest you open up the PC to at least see if the graphics card is dislodged. Even if it isn't, it may be worthwhile to gently remove it and place it back in again. Make sure to ground yourself before handling any component (touch the side of the PC case at the very least).

The monitor acts as if nothing was connected at all.. I.e. no input message.. My friend who is a little better with computers is coming round this afternoon to open up the case and see if anything is loose. thanks for the help

My friend came and opened up the PC, nothing seemed to be wrong in his eyes.. Do you think there anything else that could cause the problem?
