I’ve been searching forums for quite some time, and I have not seen my specific issue so far.
My system is just randomly restarting. No blue screen, just off, then power back up. The more I try to troubleshoot it (the more I let it turn back on after shutting down), the more quickly the computer seems to shut down next time. It gets to the point where it shuts down even in bios. After a while of being off, it will run for longer, however. The entire thing is basically brand new, besides drives.
What I’ve tried: no gpu
unplugging start/restart switches
I tried 1 stick after it had been off for a while, and slowly worked back up to 4, but I feel that it isn’t the ram (it never shut down with < 4 sticks, but it posted with 4 after a while, so I figured it was fine)
Specs:
Windows 10
i7-7820x (was overclocked to 4.7GHz, still shut down at 3.6GHz)
MSI x299 xpower
4x8Gb Corsair ddr4 @2400
EVGA 1080 SC2
EVGA fully modular 850W psu (something that comes to mind was that the “eco mode” switch was accidentally flipped when the PC was booting several days ago, but I was able to boot up after flipping to the other bios setting)
Also: I had huge problems with MB and GPU drivers for a day, but I eventually got the PC to run fine
I just want to get a second opinion; I think the PSU might be faulty/not have enough power. I just don’t want to remove anything because I spent a day making my first custom cooling loop, and it’s perfect. Let me know what you guys think
