New System - should I overclock it?

Quick background - I've just put together a system last week and have everything set at stock settings and clock speed. It's my fourth custom system, but I haven't overclocked one since my Celeron 300A to 450 two systems ago... needless to say I'm a bit out of the loop.

I've been playing FEAR and am a bit disappointed at my systems performance. I know it's a hog to run, but I was hoping for better performance. Here is my system:

AMD 3700
Epox 9NPA Mobo
2x512 Corsair Value Select
eVGA 7800GT
Seagate SATAII 120gb HD 7200rpm, 8mb cache
Win XP

I've read a couple places that having only 1 gig of RAM in FEAR is a limiting factor. Should I pop another gig in? Is it worth it? Or should I consider overclocking some things. I'm not sure where to begin. Is the CPU the bottleneck here or the RAM?

Thanks gang.

you can overclock if you want download "Coolbits" and tell it to detect the best frequency settings for the gfx... and as for the cpu just up the fsb by 5 , test then up by another 5 and test, if it fails loosen up ram timings, fails again you could try upping the volts...

whats your 3dmark05 score we'll tell you if its right for your system or too low... if its low then theres a problem.

While I dont have FEAR I do play BF2. When first started playing it was very choppy on high settings with 1gig. But in 2gigs and the game became very fluid on high settings. This didnt increase the fps just took out the choppy parts.
