new system statup

i have just fitted a b85pro4 asrock mboard with i5 4430cpu, and 1x8gig corsair vengeance 1600 ram and it would not start up..500w psu

Are all the power cables connected? CPU's, Motherboards, GPU ?

Does it make any sounds or something? Do you hear anything working when you press the power button or is completely dead?

Hi,i have tried both my scr card and the onboard gpu ,still nothing..The fans run both cpu and psu and chassis fan but nothing comes up on the screen..When i press the start button it starts briefly stops..then starts again but no boot up screen..have tried the ram in various slots also..ram nr is CMZ8GX3M1A1600C9

Have you connected the 4-pin cable on the top left corner of the motherboard? Its for the cpu.

Sorry, yours is the other away around, my bad.
I mean this on the red circle. You should have connect the 4pin cable from your psu.
Many people forget that.

Yes i have put my atx psu cable there..that one is the 12v but i only have the 4pin one which they say you can connect to pins 1 and 5..Ram?its an 8gig solid not 2x4gig..What do you think?

I dont really understand what you are saying :| sorry.

By the look of it seems like a cable isnt placed or its placed wrong. Go through all the cables and make sure that are in the proper place. Otherwise some part of your PC is dysfunctional. Cant think something else.
