I would get a single 4890 and in 2 - 3 months if he wants more power he can get another one. I never like getting a X2 or a dual card setup right off the bat.

2 reasons. The obvious one being your future upgrade options are limited. The 2nd, some games just don't perform well in crossfire.

yes i agree with you Serpent and xthekidx i think he shall get the 4890 and save the extra bucks and get the asus p6t deluxe v2 and when he has more money he could crossfire later with another 4890

Okay, I've gone back to Newegg and rebuilt. With the suggestions given, it actually lowered the price to a point where I was able to upgrade another component.
