Hello all.

While I have only just made this account to ask this, I have been coming to TH for some time now and I have seen the knowledge of this community! So I have recently purchased all the components for my system which include a ryzen 5 1600, a msi mortar b350 mobo, gtx 1060 6gb Asus strix (the duel fan model not the huge triple fan), 16gb of gskill ram running at 3200mhz and an evga 600w psu. I have connected the front power cable connected from the cases to the mobo but it refuses to turn on. I press the power and the CPU, gpu psu fans will all spin but on for about half a second before turning back off. I have reseated the ram and the gpu. I have tried with 1 dim of ram and switched that 1 dim to see if it was a faulty stick? But no matter what I do it's always the same result. If one individual component is faulty how would I determine that? Please help :(

Thanks again

If you have already done the usual troubleshooting like clearing cmos, re seating the CPU (very important) and ensured that all power cables and connections are ok then first thing that should be replaced would be CPU.
Also ensure that you have connected the case power switch to the right connector (PWR SW) on the motherboard.

Also if you haven't already then remove the GPU from your system and try booting.

OK so after some serious trouble shooting and swaping out parts with my brother it turns out the psu was in fact a Dud. Ah well at least it's only the power supply even tho it will have delayed my build buy 4 weeks due to shipping in my region
