Hello

Just applied new thermal paste and i was wondering if you should keep your pc running after that for a while, to let the paste "bond" with the cpu/heatsink. Not talking about the 200hours cure time which i read the thermal paste i used has.

Also i noticed, even before i changed the paste that 2 of my 4cores on my i7 2600k is running about ~5C hotter then the other 2, is that normal ? Not during idle but during load.

Thanks 😀

Yo,

Doesn't matter how long it's on for, you can leave it on for 12 hours straight to let the thermal paste bond, yes. But realistically it doesn't really matter.

Even if two of your cores are running 5c hotter since putting the new thermal paste on, it is pretty insignificant so you can ignore it. It's probably because the paste is settling, once it has settled then the temps will probably go down.
