New to building a computer - How is this build (for gaming)? Anything I should know/change?

I hope to be able to run "next gen" games at a suitable FPS without lowering the quality below normal. So could this build run games like battlefield? How about Chivalry/Arma?

Current parts -

CPU - FX 8350 4GHz AM3+ Black Edition Boxed Processor

Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 Socket AM3+ 990FX ATX AMD M

Memory - Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1333 Memory

Storage - Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Video Card - Gigabyte Radeon R9 270X 2GB Video Card

Case - Fractal Design Core 3000 USB 3.0 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case

Power supply - Corsair CX 430W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

So I could use that case and a higher wattage power supply. Any suggested power supplies? Is the rest okay then? Could it run computer games like chivalry/battlefield?

Judging from the PSU selection, you must be on some sort of a budget. I would drop the 8350 down to the 8320. The 8350 being binned higher is settling out to be nothing more than idle thought.

I would prefer to keep the price between $600-$700, but if need be I can raise it. But thank you as well.

the gpu you have runs as well as a 7950 in games. (it the replacement of the 7870) .

with a gpu you want to leave some overhead on the power supply so under gaming load the power supply wont over heat and shut down on you.
