Could anyone give me some helpful information on a above average CPU build? Here is what my i have made using after researching and looking around online. Like i said, i don't know a lot about this stuff so any helpful info would be good.

- SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7970 100351SR Video Card OC with Boost
- ASUS P9X79 LE LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with USB BIOS
- Intel Core i7-3820 3.6GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 2011 Quad-Core Desktop Processor
- CORSAIR GS800 800W Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready
- Western Digital WD VelociRaptor WD6000HLHX 600GB 10000 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
- 16GB CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 15000)
- CORSAIR Hydro Series H100 (CWCH100) Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
- Corsair Graphite Series 600T case

Is this a good Gaming build? any way i could make it better without a large price increase? Any helpful information would be great, thanks to all.

What's the budget? If it's gaming you're going for do not go with Intel X79. Go with Z87 instead and invest more in the GPU. You want at least a 770 SLI setup. Lose the WD Velociraptor as well - ridiculously overrated and expensive. Go with an SSD instead.

Budget is about $1900. but you kind of lost me with all of this. What are the benefits of a z87 and what is a good one to choose, and what good GPU would be compatible? Also the 770 SLI setup...
And looking at SSD they all seem very expensive
