New to dual monitors, where do i start?

I've had a PC for a while. I've always wanted dual monitors. I think I'm ready to invest in them.

Where do I start? I have a gtx 1070 and i'm looking to only use HDMI. My problem is there is only one HDMI slot.

What do I get for dual monitors? I'm looking for something cheap... Thanks!

You can use a DVI-D cable too. Or DVI-D to HDMI. Or a DisplayPort monitor with a DP cable.
