Hello there,

Long time playstation player, I may switch to PC instead of playstation 4. However I never owned a PC (only mac which are obviously not designed for gaming), so I am not the best at evaluating a PC performance.

For my first one, I prefer buying a used one, not that old, that can be decent for 3 to 4 more years before needing an upgrade. I found one on internet and I'd like to know what you think about it. I am not willing to run my games with highest graphics settings, I just want it to be decent for some years.

Here is the configuration :

Processor : i7 920 DO 2.66GHz
Cooling : Thermaltake BigTyp 120
Memory : 8gb Gskill ripjaws 1600mhz (4x2gb)
Graphics : Nvidia GTX460 1024mb Club 3D
Motherboard : Gigabyte X58A UD7
Drives : HDD 80gb Seagate Barracuda + HDD 500gb Seagate Barracuda
CD: 2 DVD/CD-RW, one SAMSUNG and one PIONEER
Power : Seasonic 650W
Case : Antec Twelve Hundred
OS : Windows 7 Ultimate 64bits SP1 on the 80gb HDD

The seller wants 550€ (£450) for it, but he asked me to do a proposal so I think it's negotiable.

What would be the first things to upgrade and when ?

Thanks for your time and your advices

Ben

Overpriced. First off you can get considerably better and more modern PC with NEW components.

DO not buy used if it can be avoided.

Here is a solid build under 500 Quid.

Thanks both of you for your answers.

Your built seems much better, unfortunately there is no option for delivery in France and I can't find any similar website here. I looked at the benchmarks. The i7 seems still decent as you said even if it is old, but the problem is the GPU. I wouldn't care upgrading it next year if needed.

This is probably a silly question but there is no wifi card on the one I found right ?

The seller would sell it to me for around £400.

Thanks again

Yes, there is no wifi card on the one you found but you can use a wireless adapter.
