So I was bored and decided to finally get into overclocking. I have an i5-3570k @ 4.2 GHz and H60 (first generation) cooler on it. I know there isn't much of a need to overclock the 3570k at the moment as it isn't really needed for most games, but again, bored.

My board is G1 Sniper M3. All I did was move the multiplier up to 42 and I've been playing with the Vcore. I'm aware a rule of thumb for Ivy Bridge is to keep the Vcore below 1.375V.

Anyways, my setup is: 4.2 GHz at Vcore = 1.21 for now. My room is a good 31 Celsius right now. My temps on Prime95 small FFTs is around 73 Celcuis after an hour or so.

This temp ok for this cooler at this Vcore? Thanks!

You should not expect anything better with that cooler and that ambient temp. But you can ask yourself do I really need to overclock my cpu.. Some people overclock their 4690k even though they only have a gtx 660
