New to Pc gaming, System Check/ TIps, please.

I have been a long time console player, but I recently started playing games on PC. I built a system which seems good but not sure any advice of settings or anything you can think of would be greatly appreciated.

Intel I7 4790K 4.0ghz
Corsair Vengeance 16gb 1866mhz
MSI z97 Gaming 5
MSI R9 390x 8gb
3 Kingston 120gb SSD
Noctua D15 CPU cooler
NZXT Phantom 410 Case

I know nothing of overclocking and really just play games for story, so I just want to be able to play a game with out hiccups graphically. Mainly been trying to play GTA V, it seems to run fine, every now and again it lags graphically and not sure why. Again any tips or settings would be greatly appreciated.

Not at all, I seriously just bought all this stuff a week ago and feel like Im not really using the system properly.

TBH I just bough this on steam downloaded it and started playing, I am running in 1080p because its running through my TV.

Thanks for replying, I have been playing GTA V and running good no issues but I have been wondering if it can handle other games? Again, thanks for replying, Haven't had much success getting feedback. Just wanted to have a gaming setup that would last me for a while since I saved up to buy most of this stuff.
