I've been using a standard modem and router provided by my ISP for a few years without a problem. REcently i bought a TP-Link Archer C20 and tried hooking it up to my modem and after going through the quick setup there was no internet connection, the 'Internet' column is basically empty with the IP address showing 0.0.0.0 and so on. To double check if my modem was the problem I reconnected my old router and it worked like a charm I'm assuming the modem isn't the problem.Details are as follows:

Modem : Huawei HG8240w
Old router: L7-N-R2000
Working mode: PPPoE

I've tried contacting both my ISP and Tp-link and no one seems to know what's the problem and I'm getting pissed off right about now. Any help is greatly appreciated!

2 possibilities:

1. modem is in bridge mode, and your router does not have the correct PPPoE settings. call you ISP and make sure you have the right user name and password.

2. Modem is not in bridge mode and is configured to establish PPPoE connection. In this case you need to go into the router...
most likely your modem is associated with your old router. to associate it with the new router do the following.

plug in the new router and power off the modem for 30 seconds. power on the modem and wait 2-3 minutes. test your connection. if this fails let us know

Still no Internet connection even after doing as you said. When i log in the to the router management page this is what I see. Any thoughts?
