New Video Card Help PLEASE!

I am new to this forum and was wondering if anyone could help me?
I just built my computer and it turns on and everything then i hear the one beep to make me think everything is okay. so i wait a little bit. But nothing happen to my monitor it just stays black.

My specs are XFX HD-687A-ZNFC Radeon HD 6870 1GB

Check all your connections, especially the ones pertaining to the graphics card.

okay i opened the case and everything connected, even the 2 PCIe 6 pin connectors are hooked into the video card itself
