With the introductino of the "Defender" ability and changes to the
"wall" rule, will Mistform creatures be erratad to allow them to
change a creature type to Wall?

I think that all old cards that had you pick creature types will be
updated. We'll see exactly how soon enough.

"What does that mean?"
"It doesn't really mean anything, but it sounds neat."

Yes.
In addition, the only thing not allowing Walls to attack will be the
Defender ability (not a restriction placed on the subtype "Wall"). This
leaves the door open for WotC to create creatures of the type Wall that do
not have the Defender ability, thus allowing them to attack.
