Im going to be installing a new copy of windows 10 onto a new SSD, i'm currently running windows 8.1 and a while ago attempted to upgrade to 10 but it failed and ended up clean installing 8.1, hence me not just upgrading to 10 with all my old stuff in it. What im wondering is how i can get all my old programs integrated into windows 10 once its on the new ssd, or do i just run them from the old windows on the other drive? sorry if thats clear as mud it makes sense in my head!

I would reinstall the programs after you install Windows 10. I wouldn't really want to have a dual boot setup ( run them from the old windows on the other drive) because you are wasting space with two installations of Windows...plus....you will be still stuck with Windows 8.

1)Disable the present drive and install the SSD.
2)Install windows on the SSD.
3)Install apps on the SSD.
4)Run the apps from the SSD.
5)Forget windows on the present drive.
6)Use it as storage, especially to store file back ups .
