ive installed a fresh version of windows 7 ultimate x64, i have internet drivers, i have amd catalyst for my GPU, however i cannot get any of the intel drivers i always get and intel utility driver just says no drivers found when it scans for the ones i need, i also cant update windows 7, just keeps moving,
it says i dont have the minimum requirements to download the driver but i do, and its the same procedure i always do on this computer

Intel DQ67sw
i5-2500
Amd Firepro v5900
8gb ram
windows 7 x64
i was attempting to install usb drivers when i got the error msg, so i tried intel hd graphics drivers so i can run 2 monitors like i always do and the same thing, its also worth mentioning i was playing a low end graphic game and lagging really hard when usually my fps on it would be 150+ any solution?

The issue with Windows Update constantly trying is a common issue and nothing you can do. My suggestion is starting an Update before you go to bed. As for the drivers, I would try updating the through Windows first to see if update will provide a driver for you, although I do not recommend using Windows Update provide drivers, however other options seem to have failed.

It just means you need the correct driver. At this point you need to find the the Vendor and Device ID which can be found in Device Manager. Right click an item that needs a driver and go to properties. Within the properties of that device click the 'details' tab. In the long list located 'hardware Ids' you will see detailed information about that device,

example: pci\ven_1003&dev_4396&subsys_43961002&rev_00

The vendor id would be ven_1003 or 1003
The device id would be dev_4396 or 4396

You can then search http://pcidatabase.com/ for a driver specific to your hardware.

Now as for your firepro, if you think its going to make it big in the gaming world, then you have guessed wrong. Firepro mainly targets workstation performance. Meaning its only made for 3D design. rendering and professional graphics. Do not expect it to give you amazing performance like a GTX970 TI.

The two were specifically engineered for different workloads. The firepro will perform better rendering polygons and physics in an application like Maya (just an example) or AutoCAD design and maybe Photoshop, whereas GTX 970 TI will perform better rendering shaders and outputting the best graphics and frames in a game like battlefield or Tom raider. However if you tried to use a GTX 970 TI in maya AutoCAD or photoshop, you will begin to wonder why you are lagging in those application, the same applies to your Firepro in gaming.

All this goes back to what I said earlier, it was not engineers and designed for that workload, so your best solution is to swap out with a discreet card made for the workload.

i am well aware of the firepro being a workstation card, i got this pc used for 300 and have been doing upgrades, i have a asus r9 390 8gb literally sitting behind me im just waiting on a bigger case lol, and also i wouldnt recommend the 970 to anyone, it has a known problem of only giving off 3.5gb instead of 4, it is was an error noticed after the release, there was also a big thing where nvidia posted the wrong specs, i myself learned that recently, but i will try the driver thing, thank you for your help

so i found the official drivers: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24970/Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-8-1-32bit
they are for 2nd gen my processor is a i5-2500 i got there from the intel i5-2500 page lol, no drivers at all can be downloaded apparently i dont meet the system requirements on any of them, but ive downloaded these drivers before and i know this is the correct ones, this applies to all drivers the only one successfully installed was ethernet driver, my card is working now and im getting correct fps, but still cannot get intel graphics drivers to run my 2nd monitor, any other solution?

Your perspective on the GTX 970 "Bug" is a misconception and there is reason behind the 3.5 GB shared memory. To start with, it was not nVidia's engineers who where at fault, in fact they interpreted the information correctly. However, marketing is the one who misinterpreted the information. Two different departments not on the same level. So if you're going to blame someone, blame marketing, not nVidia (Marketing referring the reviews and articles; separate from nVidia organization)

So, does reporting specs different from what they engineered a problem? No, not really because you are still getting the 4 GB of shared memory. People don't take in account for memory pools and just assume that just because something says 3.5 GB shared doesn't mean they are missing their quarter. This is why people complain of the GTX 970 Shared memory being a 'Bug". It's not a bug. They segmented the graphics memory into two (2) segments, a 3.5 GB shared pool and a 0.5 GB shared pool as most games don't utilize the full 3.5 GB. When the game needs to utilize more than 3.5 GB the GPU will utilize both pools of memory giving you your so called "missing" 0.5 GB memory. It was specifically engineered this way using the streaming Maxwell multi-processor to improve performance

The 970 is equipped with 4 GB shared, however it does have a different configuration that the SMMs (streaming Maxwell multiprocessor) in a 980. The 970 uses fewer crossbar resources to the memory system, so they had to 'optimally' manage the memory traffic in this configuration which is why they segmented shared memory into two (2) pools of 3.5 and 0.5; again the card is equipped with the 4 GB total, but will only utilize it when it is truly necessary.

And knowing this information, I would never change my recommendation for users and still recommend them to purchase the GTX 970, so long as they know why there are two (2) pools of 3.5 and 0.5 shared. My recommendations stand firm.
