Did you remove or otherwise disable any other network adapters: wired or wireless?

Double check that the new wireless card is fully and firmly seated in its' slot.

Verify that the antennas are fully and squarely installed and correctly oriented. Are the antennas sitting down at floor level perhaps? Are there antenna extension cables available?

Make and model router?

Run "ipconfig /all" via the Command Prompt and post the results.

Hello

The only adapters are my ethernet, bluetooth, and wireless. The card is firmly in its spot. The antennas are pointing upwards.

My router is a Netgear R6300v2

This (via "ipconfig /all"):

Wireless LAN adapter Wi-Fi 2:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Realtek 8812BU Wireless LAN 802.11ac USB NIC

===========

Your new wireless card is not USB.

Google "realtek 8812bu wireless lan 802.11ac usb nic"

Could be a driver mismatch.

Double check the wireless network drivers that you installed.

First ensure that the driver was correct and second, even if correct, that the download itself was correct and not corrupted.

Check the link speed
https://www.windowscentral.com/how-determine-wi-fi-and-ethernet-connection-speed-windows-10

alter the antennas till the speed is increasing

update the router´s firmware if not up to date
https://www.netgear.com/support/product/r6300v2.aspx#Firmware Version 1.0.4.42

be sure to connect to the 5GHz network

try the 2.4GHz as well, might be more stable but slower

just for your information:
the router is "only" supporting this, no AX :
IEEE® 802.11 b/g/n 2.4 GHz
IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac 5.0 GHz AC

Hi helpstar and Ralston,

I installed the driver for my dongle, and everything has been going smoothly for about an hour now. If you care to take a look, I will post any future problems I have, or just create a new post. Thank you very much for your time.
