I have just finished construction of my new PC, and have turned it on for the first time. Everything is powering up, but I am getting no image on my monitor. That is the only problem I can see. But because I can't get an image, I can't do anything to get anything installed on my new rig.

The monitor is fine. It worked with my previous computer until the bottom fell out of the motherboard. I have tried plugging into the DVI-D and HDMI ports on my graphics card and on the motherboard itself, and no images from any of them. I don't know what to do, please help me.

Dell flatscreen monitor

Asrock z170 fatal1ty gaming 4k motherboard
Msi gtx 960 gaming 4G graphics card.
Core i5 unlocked i5-6600k lga 1151 processor
Trident Z 3200c 32G ddr4 ramm, plugged into the red ports

Fans all work. CD drive works. WD HDD drives have not yet been confirmed working.
Power supply is a 1000 watt capacity carry over from my previous PC. I have never had any problems with it.

Please, any help would be much appreciated.

Each motherboard (bios) manufacturer has different beep codes for diagnosis.

If you are getting no beep sound on post (assuming you have a speaker(s) set up hear it) then that is not a good sign...if you have no memory modules installed (or the memory slots were faulty) that would give a beep code if you tried to start it up. Likewise for a faulty processor (less common these days). If you have paired back your build as suggested above you want to find the beep codes for your bios (motherboard).

Now for me...the symptoms you describe originally suggest to me that you don't have a 12v (4 or 8 pin iirc) power supply to the motherboard (in addition to the main MB power supply cable) or you have the monitor plugged in to the...

I have just finished a 2 hour testing phase of swapping components the way you suggested, and nothing changed. I have noticed a few new symptoms though. My computer does not make any beeps on starting up, but I thought that was because no operating system has been installed. Also the monitor says it is not detecting any output, not that there is no connection, so it must mean that there is power flowing through the graphics parts of the motherboard.

So, I guess this means that either I received a bad processor, or bad ramm?
Experts, please advise.

The large power cable is plugged into the motherboard, yes, and so is an 8 pin cable to the top left side, and this last romp of futile testing I plugged in the 4 pin that is normally not needed unless there are 3 cards being used by the board. It is not a lack of power cables.

As for the case wires, I am 90 percent sure I have them in the right place. Power switch and reset switch, yes, definitely, because the wires and pins were very specifically marked with the grounds in the documentation. Then instead of ground pins on the motherboard there were + and - pins,so I used the - pins for where the G marks and ground green wires on the last 2 cables for the p led and HDD led.

As for the internal speaker I have the HD front panel audio header plugged in, so doesn't that hook into the internal speaker for the case?
