Hi everybody,
I'm building new workstation for professional video production. I have a CPU doubt. The best for me is 5900x but right now is unfortunately overpriced... Then I have to choose between 3900x or 5800x.
Programs I use are Adobe Premiere PRO, Adobe After Effect and Davinci Resolve. I read a lot of tests but what's better for one program is worst for the other. I really don't know where to go.
What do you recommend?
(or I have to wait for the 5900's lowering price? But I need my PC.... )

Thank You!

3900xt gets slightly more than a 5800x, so figure a 3900x will be roughly the same, the 5 series IPC and clock speeds making up for any lack of cores/threads.

If the ultimate goal is a 5900x/5950x, I'd set the pc up with those in mind, regardless of current cpu.

3900 it scored number one a while back in the BM's for adobe lightroom. Lightroom pulls easily 10-12gb and maxes out 24 threads to 100% while exporting. The results is super speedy exports compared to my 6700k.

I think you will be happy with a 3900x.
