New XFX RX 480 GTR Artifacts

I just installed my New rx 480 but when i launched up planet side 2 (non maxed) or borderlands 2 (maxed), i get crazy artifacts that look like different colored explosions( ALSO! i dont get any artifacts in Bioshock Infinite maxed settings). do i need to install any kind of software besides the base driver stuff that came in a disk or is it just a faulty card?

my pc is a stock gateway DX4870-ub318 besides the psu and gpu.
PSU: EVGA 650 GQ

Edit: im using HDMI cables. I dont know if that has anything to do with the artifacts

Don't use the drivers from the disk as they will be outdated, get them directly from AMD.

If updating the drivers doesn't fix the artifacts then you may of gotten a faulty card.

Just right click on your desktop
Select Radeon Settings
Select 'updates' in the bottom left corner of the window which opens
Click on 'Check for updates'
Then pick 16.12.1

If you still get artifacts after installing 16.12.1 and you have rebooted your system then you may have a faulty card.

Good news is that XFX has really good customer support. So if you need help you are going to be in good shape.

updated to 16.12.2. but still getting artifacts in BL2 and PS2. Guess its faulty. Still dont understand why im not getting artifacts in Bioshock infinite

Still trying out the card because i havnt been able to get a hold of XFX due to the new year and i just got an error while playing BF1 that looked like this https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CwgESw8XUAALSFR.jpg. This is just an image i got from google images so its not the same, but its just the correct layout of the error to let you know what kind it is. (Also had very few artifacts and alot of choppy/stutter gameplay)

Your driver is old. The error message shows driver 16.11.2. There shouldn't be a major difference however try 16.12.1

the wasnt the real error msg i got. that was just from google to give you an example of what it looked like.
what i got was the same thing but instead of 16.11.2. i got it with 16.12.2.
And instead of (16.40.3111.1002-161103a-308528E) i got (16.50.2011-161219a-309792E)

That shouldn't be happening at all on a new card even if you used the drivers on the disc. You need to RMA your card asap

Why? couldnt i call XFX to get a replacement?

You would need to send it in then they would send you a new card
